Black Light Lures to Flying Insect Trap to Zap Them with Electricity
Use this Koolatron indoor flying insect killer
to lure light sensitive flying insects into an electronically charged metal grid: this bug zapper
destroys them fast. Flies, moths and other flying insects fly to their death, attracted by black light (ultra-violet rays). The FT24G Koolatron insect zapper
with 9 watt UV bulb then electrocutes the insects on contact with the electrically charged metal grids. Dead insects fall into the tray at the base of the unit. Ideal for use in and around the home. The Electronic F lying Insect Killer
works night and day to protect homes and commercial premises alike from the menace of flying insects. For best results
you need to hang it at 1.5m-2.5m above ground where flying insects are most active. Avoid competing sources of light and any obstructions within the unit’s operating area. In kitchen areas, ensure the unit is positioned to draw flies away from food and food preparation surfaces. The unit will attract flying insects within a radius of 3m to 6m on a line of sight basis. If, after 24 hours, you achieve poor results, experiment by re-positioning the unit at a slightly different height or location. It is recommended to let it operate continuously for the first few weeks to break insect breeding cycles, then after that you can reduce it to 12 to 16 hours a day. For daytime use, enhance performance with a small amount of syrup, fish or meat to the collection tray at the base of the unit.
Note: Always unplug unit before cleaning or handling. Remove dead insects from the collection tray at the base of the unit by twisting in an anti-clockwise direction.

From time to time the high voltage grid should be cleaned. For best results, replace the ultra-violet tube at the beginning of each summer. The ultra-violet tube in your unit will remain an effective insect attractant for up to 2500 hours. At the first sign of the tube flickering, it should be replaced. Ask your local retailer for a 9W U-Type ultra-violet tube, or re-order direct from manufacturer.
CAUTION! Unplug the unit before you proceed. A slight residual charge may exist on the grid wires immediately after disconnection from the mains. To discharge this, short across two grid wires using an insulated screwdriver. Remove the insect collection tray. Loosen the screws of the ultra-violet tube holder. Pull out the old tube and replace. Screw back the tube holder and replace collection tray.
