NYC Approved, Non-Removable Home Security Guards


Model No. 1123, 1124 and 1125 Window Guards for windows 24" to 42" wide.
Model No. 1123-S Window Guards for windows 14-1/2" to 24-1/2" wide.
Model No. 1123-L Window Guards for windows 42" to 58" wide.


1. Install only in solid, non-rotting window tracks. Expand Guard to fit tightly into outside window track.

2. Temporarily support Guard in level position NO MORE THAN 4-1/2 inches from sill to upper half of bottom bar. Mark location of holes on each side. Remove Guard and drill 5/32" dia. pilot holes 1" deep.

3. Re-position Guard and mount with #10 one way screws (included.)

4. Raise the inner window NO MORE THAN 4-1/2" above the lower half of the top bar. Position "L" shaped stops so as to limit the opening above the Window Guard to a maximum of 4-1/2" (see illustration). Mark and drill 5/32" dia. pilot holes 1" deep. Mount stops with #10 one way screws (included).

WARNING
Use of this guard beyond specified maximum width is dangerous and illegal. Use of this gate on a fire escape window in New York City is illegal, a serious safety hazard and may result in a fine by the Department of Buildings.

  • Screws should be anchored firmly into a solid stud or frame material to achieve maximum safety.
