| Kill A Watt & Watts Up?: Electricity Usage Monitor | |
| Kill A Watt Electricity Power Meter | |
Digital Electricity Meter to Measure Energy Consumption
Watts "killing" you?
Simple Kill A Watt Operation:
- Plug in Kill A Watt into standard USA outlet.
- Plug in 110VAC to 115VAC appliance.
- Depress Volt, Amp, Watt, Hz, or KWH buttons.
- Read LCD display. Note energy efficiency level of the appliance.
LCD display shows energy consumption by Kilowatt-hour like a utility company energy
efficiency meter. Calculate electrical expenses by the hour, day, week, month, etc.
with this kwh meter (kilowatts/hour).
Evaluate your utility company's quality of electrical power by monitoring voltage
(Volt), line frequency (Hz) and power factor (VA). Detect voltage drops around a
home or business. Practice energy conservation. Detect potential brownout conditions
before voltage drops damage delicate voltage sensitive equipment. Inspect electrical
outlets of a home or building you may purchase without hiring an electrician.
Kill A Watt Electricity Energy Meter is a reliable power meter. Conserve energy
and reduce your power bill by learning what appliances are inefficient and need
to be replaced or turned off. Wonder the amount of energy consumption of
that extra freezer? Plug this residential-grade device into a three-prong grounded
wall outlet. Plug the freezer into the Kill A Watt. The Kill A Watt Power Monitor
tells how much energy usage the freezer requires.
The knowledge gained from Kill A Watt Electrical Energy Monitor can save you hundreds
of dollars.

| Watts Up? Power Analyzer & Watt Meter | |
Digital Electricity Meter to Measure Energy Consumption. Usage is simple.
Plug any standard AC device into Watts Up?. The meter instantaneously displays
watts used and the cost in dollars and cents.
Watts Up? provides detailed information (see list below). 6 values are displayed
in the main modes. More information is available in the detail mode. Clear English
wording on the LCD describes the displays.
Watts Up? measures voltage and current thousands of times per second. This
fast response time gives a peak surge display of power that happens when appliances
are first turned on. The peak value display captures the surge display no matter
how fast the surge occurs. The minimum voltage display shows both line quality and
voltage dips. Minimum current and minimum watts displays monitor variances in appliances
that run continuously.
Watts Up? measures true power (including power factor). True power is what
utilities charge for, which can be different than a simple voltage and current measurement
(this is called "apparent power"). The duty cycle display shows the percent of time
a load is above a preset threshold level. For instance, this threshold can be set
to 100 watts and with a refrigerator the duty cycle display will show the percent
of time that the compressor is running. A high reading may indicate a bad motor
or low freon.
Sixteen Values displayed:
- Cost, in dollars and cents
- Average monthly cost
- Power factor
- True RMS power
- Average monthly kwh
- Minimum voltage
- Maximum voltage
- Cumulative power (kwh)

- Minimum current
- Maximum current
- Time
- Minimum wattage
- Maximum wattage
- Voltage
- Duty cycle

Watts Up? Specifications:
- State-Of-The-Art Microprocessor Digital Design
- 120 VAC, 60 Hz, 15 amps continuous
- True RMS power measured and displayed
- +/- 3%, +/- 2 counts of the displayed value for loads above 10 watts
- +/- 5%, +/- 3 counts of the displayed value for loads below 10 watts
Accuracy is of the displayed value, not the range. Some devices claim
a smaller number for accuracy but it refers to the range. For instance, a specification
of 0.2% of the range sounds good, but it is actually 3.6% of the display (.02 *
1800 = 3.6), which is a worse accuracy.
- RS232 interface (PRO). A USB to RS232 adapter is available
- Main supply voltage fluctuations not to exceed +/- 10% of the nominal voltage
- Adjustable Rate: enter from $0.001 to $2.00 per kilowatt hour, in tenths of a penny
- Input is via 6' electric cord, output is via outlet on top of meter
- Indoor use only
- Dimensions: 7" x 4" x 2" (18cm x 10cm x 5cm)
- Weight: 1.5 lbs (0.7 kg)
- UL rating: Watts Up? is UL listed to standard 3111-1
- Altitude: up to 2000 meters
- Temperature: 50 C to 400 C
- Maximum relative humidity: 80% for temperatures up to 310 C decreasing linearly
to 50% relative humidity at 400 C
- Installation Category II

| Watts Up? PRO ES (Extra Storage) Power Analyzer & Watt Meter | |
The Watts Up PRO ES, our newest model, boasts
over 13,000 records of memory. This enables sophisticated data collection projects
to be accomplished with ease, and a high level of resolution. In fact, over a weeks
worth of data can be collected with a resolution between records of only one minute.
The sample interval (time between records) is user selectable between one second
and one day.
Memory is non-volatile so no battery is required. Data transfer speed has also been
increased 4 times, to a baud rate of 34,800. The PRO ES version includes all the
displays of the Watts up? PRO, and it also comes with the same graphing software
and a serial cable to interface to a PC.
