Lower wattage modified sine wave units (up to 300 watts) do not have cooling fans
and plug directly into 12V DC cigarette lighter power receptacles. Pure sine wave
power inverters do have cooling fans and plug directly into auto power receptacles.

power ratings, units work with standard or grounded plugs to meet any power supply
demand.
Note: Before ordering, determine combined power requirements of all appliances to
be plugged into inverters. Remember that watts = amps x volts. Choose a unit that
has a surge rating large enough to handle starting up the appliance. Some appliances
with motors need an initial surge of power to get the motor going and then require
much less power to continue running. It is best to err on the high side and purchase
a power inverter larger than the maximum you believe you need.
