CareCovers replace standard electrical outlet covers to improve baby safety. An
insulating gasket around the entire cover sealsagainst air leakages into and out
of your home.
Major features of the CareCover Child Safety Outlet Cover:
- Child Restraint Design:
 Spring-loaded sliding doors automatically keep
receptacle holes covered when not in use. This gives the cover a solid appearance,
concealing the black receptacle holes which are so inviting to toddlers. Because
of its child safety effectiveness, the CareCover was selected for use by the National
Institute of Children's Environments in "California Showcase 1989."
- Remodeling Function and Economy: Remodeling? CareCovers cover electrical
outlets so a color change is simple. Cover with white, ivory, or brown sliding panel
outlet covers. Except when in use, the spring loaded slides on the Care Cover outlet
covers conceal wall outlets.
- Energy Efficiency: The Minneapolis Blower door test is used in the industry
to measure energy loss. The blower test was conducted on a house with standard electrical
outlet covers. Each electrical outlet in that house was covered with an automatic
sliding door CareCover. The test was repeated. Air infiltration was reduced 15%.
For its energy efficiency, the Care Cover received a Department of Energy Award.
On October 4, 1988, The Secretary of Energy announced the Care Cover won the United
States Department of Energy, National Award for Energy Innovation.
