WATTS UP Power Analyzer and Watt Meter (Standard Unit)
Electronic Educational Devices - WATTS UP Power Analyzer and Watt Meter (Standard Unit)

Digital electric meter instantly displays wattage used by any standard AC device plugged into this power meter. Instantly see the cost in dollars and cents on Watts Up display . Conserve electricity by replacing power guzzlers with energy efficient appliances or by turning off appliances that use power silently.

Main display modes show 6 values. Detail mode give additional information. Clear English wording on LCD describes the displays.

Watts Up? measures voltage and current thousands of times per second. This fast response time shows the peak surge power display of power when appliances are first turned on. The peak value display captures the surge display no matter how fast the surge occurs. The minimum voltage display shows both line quality and voltage dips. Minimum current and minimum watts displays monitor variances in appliances that run continuously.

Watts Up? measures true RMS power (including power factor). Electric bills are based on true RMS power, which can differ from a simple voltage and current measurement ("apparent power"). Duty cycle display shows the percent of time a load is above a preset threshold level. For instance, set this threshold to 100 watts for a refrigerator and the duty cycle display shows the percent of time that the compressor is running. A high reading may indicate a bad motor or low freon.

Sixteen Values displayed:
  • Cost, in dollars and cents
  • Average monthly cost
  • Power factor
  • True RMS power
  • Average monthly kwh
  • Minimum voltage
  • Maximum voltage
  • Cumulative power (kwh)
  • Minimum current
  • Maximum current
  • Time
  • Minimum wattage
  • Maximum wattage
  • Voltage
  • Duty cycle
  • Current
Digital Electricity Meter Measures Energy Consumption.
  • UL listed 3111-1.
  • Plug into outlet. Plug in standard 110VAC device and instantaneously see watts used and the cost in dollars and cents.
  • LCD can display 16 Values: Cost, in dollars and cents, Average monthly cost, Power factor, True RMS power, Average monthly kwh, Minimum voltage, Maximum voltage, Cumulative power (kwh), Minimum current, Maximum current, Time, Minimum wattage, Maximum wattage, Voltage, Duty cycle.
  • Current Measures voltage and current thousands of times per second. Gives peak surge display of power no matter how fast the surge occurs.
  • Minimum voltage display shows both line quality and voltage dips.
  • Minimum current and minimum watts displays monitor variances in appliances that run continuously.
  • Measures true RMS power (including power factor).
  • Electric bills are based on true RMS power, Helps you decide when and which appliances to replace.
  • State-Of-The-Art Microprocessor Digital Design
  • 120 VAC, 60 Hz, 15 amps continuous
  • True RMS power measured and displayed
  • +/- 3%, +/- 2 counts of the displayed value for loads above 10 watts
  • +/- 5%, +/- 3 counts of the displayed value for loads below 10 watts
Accuracy is of the displayed value, not the range. Some devices claim a smaller number for accuracy but it refers to the range. For instance, a specification of 0.2% of the range sounds good, but it is actually 3.6% of the display (.02 * 1800 = 3.6), which is a worse accuracy.
  • RS232 interface (PRO). A USB to RS232 adapter is available
  • Main supply voltage fluctuations not to exceed +/- 10% of the nominal voltage
  • Adjustable Rate: enter from $0.001 to $2.00 per kilowatt hour, in tenths of a penny
  • Input is via 6' electric cord, output is via outlet on top of meter
  • Indoor use only
  • Dimensions: 7" x 4" x 2" (18cm x 10cm x 5cm)
  • Weight: 1.5 lbs (0.7 kg)
  • UL rating: Watts Up? is UL listed to standard 3111-1
  • Altitude: up to 2000 meters
  • Temperature: 50 C to 400 C
  • Maximum relative humidity: 80% for temperatures up to 310 C decreasing linearly to 50% relative humidity at 400 C
  • Installation Category II
  • Warranty: 12 months from date of purchase by manufacturer.
  • Note: Watts Up units are returnable only for replacement by manufacturer if deemed defective.
Where to Use the WattsUp?:
  • Home or industrial applications: Identify "leakers", appliances like coffee pots that consume electricity 24/7. Learn how much power your older freezer and refrigerator use.
  • Educational settings: Use the Watts Up digital power usage meter as an educational tool for elementary through college students.
