Victor Plunger Mole Trap Kills Moles Quickly
Killing moles is fast. Insert this Victor® Mole Trap into mole tunnels in your yard and quickly kill the moles without chemicals or poisons. The plunger-mole trap features weather-resistant spears so the yard mole trap can be used over and over again. No more need to chase moles with a pitchfork!
Each Plunger Mole Trap has a safety pin to
eliminate false firings. The trap comes fully assembled to exterminate moles fast. The
illustrated operating instructions make sure you set and place the trap correctly.
How
to Use the Trap:
- Identify the active tunnels by flattening a
portion of a few tunnels. Wait 24 hours. The ones that resurface are the
more active ones, the place to set the traps.
- Make a depression in the
tunnel roof by pressing down with your thumb. Center the trap on the
tunnel with the trap pan directly over the depression you made.
- Push the trap down until the
spears have "bottomed out."
- Preset spear holes by plunging spears up and
down until they travel easily to the bottom on their ooen.
- Before setting the trap,
make sure the firing latch is OUTSIDE the pan.
- Hold the trap frame in place
and rapidly pull down on the T handle until the firing latch snaps over
the pan. Then ease the T handle down until the latch catches.
- Trap is now set. If
necessary, push down slightly on the trap to make sure the pan fis into
the thumb depression and contacts the roof of the tunnel.
- Once the trap fires, remove
the mole if desired.
- If the ground is very soft, sandy or very
hard, you may have to cut out about 5 inches of sod above the tunnel and
remove earth so you can get the trap placed level with the top of the
tunnel. Then replace the sod and set the trap ( steps 2 through 5).
Ideally, this mole trap is placed into the tunnel with the tunnel portion beneath the trigger pan partially blocked. The trigger must rest on the blockage. This placement works best for moles, since their natural instinct is to reopen the tunnel. In clearing the tunnel, they will push up on the trigger, releasing the powerful trap and the mole goes to mole heaven.
Spring is the best time to trap moles: newly-made surface tunnels are easy to spot. However, moles can be trapped during any season except in very cold or dry weather.
