The Scentry III-GFRAB gas alarm and gas valve controller (shut-off) has the capability of adding options such as battery back-up, remote gas sensors and remote alarms. Note: gas valve is not included. If you add the battery option, you can keep pilot lights lit during intermittent power failures in regions such as the mountain states where electric power is not always continuous. A 12V output gives the option of a phone dialer to alert owners of vacation homes, etc. when an unsafe condition has occurred. Remote gas sensors can be added near gas ranges, gas water heaters, gas furnaces, gas heaters, etc. to add protection using only one gas valve controller. GFRAB stands for Gas sensor, Feet for mounting, Remote sensor capability, Alarm (internal, 90 db) and Battery back-up compatible. Operation: The Safety First USA Gas Valve Controller (GFRAB) will go into alarm mode at a 10% (LEL) lower explosive level. The alarm point of methane (natural gas) will vary from unit to unit, but be near this 10% level. After power has been on for two minutes the detector is ready to protect the home. A green LED should be on indicating power has been applied. Any time this LED changes to RED and the alarm goes to a BEEP- BEEP mode the gas Valve controller will drop out the gas valve and stop the flow of gas to the appliances being protected. The ONLY way to reset this unit is to remove the unburned fuel (vent the area that caused the alarm) and then push the red reset button. Once an explosive gas is detected, this gas monitor sounds an alarm and can activate equipment to remove dangerous gas build up in a building. Easily installed and reliable, this gas alarm and gas monitor has easily accessible terminal strips for fast and secure wire connections, backup battery charging, low battery detection and sensor failure alarm. The GFRAB stands for gas sensor, mounting feet, remote ready, alarm and battery and includes the gas valve shut-off/controller. NOTE: Must be used with a Scentry III gas valve (sold separately). Each Scentry gas sensor is calibrated in a gaseous atmosphere so it will alarm at 10% of the lower explosive level (LEL) of the combustible gas.
