Energy Saving Sliding Plug Guard for Standard 3 Prong Outlets Opens Up and Down
New electrical outlet coveris both a child safety device and an energy saving device. The Plug Guard fits any standard 3 prong grounded duplex electricaloutlet and features two sliding plates that are spring-loaded. These outlet cover plates move up and down. These heavy duty plastic covers have recessed outlet openings that you pull up to insert a plug and then automatically slide shut when the plug is removed . This outlet cover replaces your existing outlet plate: the foam backing switch gasket means the Plug Guard also provides a tight seal around the outlets to prevent drafts that increase air conditioning or heating bills.
The sliding door outlet cover is about the same size as a standard outlet cover but it is thicker. When you slide a door open, there is an opening that is about 1 inch high and wide enough for all standard 2- and 3-prong plugs. Over-sized plugs will not fit into either opening.
Installation is simple. What you need is a screw driver to remove the single screw in the center of the existing outlet cover.
Installation Instructions:
Shut off Circuit Breaker at Fuse Box
Remove existing wall plate by turning screw counter-clockwise.
Position Plug Guard in place and turn screw clock-wise to secure without over tightening.
