This portable stove looks like a lunchbox but uses either 12 volts or 24 volts to heat to a temperature of 300° F as you drive to your destination.

The compact Lunch Box Stove plugs into a 24 V or 12V car accessory outlet where a cigarette lighter, cell phone, heated seat cushion or other 12V low draw appliance can plug in. Cook food at home and keep it warm while you travel. Stop and enjoy a hot lunch at meal time with the Koolatron Lunch Box Stove.

The internal heating coil in this 12V appliance cooks or warms your food to 300° F as you drive. Use on road trips to warm baby bottles, baby food jars, soups, stews and pizza slices in minutes.

Lunchbox Stove Use information:

Puncture cans and open jars prior to heating.
Place food in aluminum foil or small oven bags for easier clean-up.
Note: Food can be placed directly in the aluminum bottom pan. However, clean-up is more difficult since this unit is not submersible.
Add water prior to plugging the unit into power. A water bath helps to spread heat more quickly when cooking food in their original containers.
Heating foods is faster when using a water bath or in contact with the bottom pan.

Approximate Heating Times Using the Lunch Box Stove:

Baby food jars or bottles (Use water bath): 3 to 5 minutes
Hot dogs: 5 minutes
Grilled cheese sandwich: 7 to 10 minutes
Canned soups and foods: 20 minutes
Rice: 30 minutes
Leftovers in oven bag or foil: varies depending upon the food type and size.

Cautions about Using the Lunch Box Stove:

Do not warm food in plastic containers, sandwich bags or any sealed container.
Plastic containers may melt and sealed containers may explode when heated.
Never add water when unit is hot.
Average temperature of the aluminum surface is 320 degrees F (160 degrees C) achieved by a self-temperature regulating heater element.
Never submerge in liquid.
Cleaning: Unplug unit. Use a wet soapy cloth, brush or sponge. Do not use metal scouring pads.

Lunchbox Operating Specifications:

To Operate: Start vehicle engine. Then plug cord into cigarette lighter socket if circuit is rated for up to 9 amps.

Powered by: 12 volt and 24 volt vehicle systems and by Koolatron 12 volt 5 amp power supplies. Circuitry handles both 12v and 24v. No physical switch to change from 12v to 24v. 24v does allow it to heat faster but still only to 300° F when driving.

Power drawn: up to 9 amps during operation with average current draw of 5 amps.
