This is a box of two John Sterling 1135window guardsfor sleeping or non-sleeping rooms. Each window guard is 18 inches high and expands to fill a space that is 24 to 42 inches wide. The five window bars are made of sturdy steel that is painted white. Each security bar unit consists of a 5 bar windowguard that needs a vertical space of 18 inches for installation with a coverage for security of 16 5/16 inches.

Because each window guard includes a locking channel and safety release lever, you can escape fires or other disasters by swinging open the bars. Mount bars either horizontally or vertically.

Installation Requirements:
Install
only in solid, non-rotting window tracks. Expand Guard to fit
tightly into outside window track.
Temporarily
support Guard in level position NO MORE THAN 4 inches from sill to upper half of bottom bar .
Mark location of holes on each side. Remove Guard and drill
5/32" diameter. pilot holes 1 inch deep.
Re-position
Guard and mount with #10 one way screws (included.)
Raise
the inner window NO MORE THAN 4 inches above the lower half of the
top bar. Position "L" shaped stops so as to limit
the opening above the Window Guard to a maximum of 4 inches.
