How to measure for child safety window guards: - Identify window type. Remember: horizontal and vertical window guards differ . Mounts for Guardian Angel window guards are designed to butt together so that only 4 inches are between protective bars. The mounts are at the top and bottom of the window interior, often between the screen and the window glass. Mounts for horizontal guards are mounted on the sides of the window's bottom pane so that there is no more than a 4 inch space between the first bar and the bottom of the window. The screen is usually on the outside of the window pane.
