Surround Air Ionizers (NeoTec XJ-2000).
Consider these Points in Choosing An Ozone and Negative Ion Air Purifier:
-
Area Size and Number of Rooms: Each unit covers up to 500 sq/ft. Multiple units of Surround Air are more effective
than one large unit for a home or office. Negative ions last about 30 seconds, travel only short distances. Walls, ceilings,
floors, etc. serve as barriers for all air purification systems.
-
Negative Ion Density Produced:
SurroundAir produces high density, one million negative ions/cc/second.
-
Needlepoints (Number and Composition):
SurroundAir has 16 Stainless Steel needlepoints, not eight or less like most competitors.
-
Metallic Collector Plate:
Black residue from ionization accumulates on collector plate not on walls.
-
Collector Plate Material:
SurroundAir’s stainless steel is corrosion resistant.
-
Horizontal or Vertical Collector Plate:
SurroundAir’s horizontal plate collects more particulate and microorganisms.
-
Cleaning Ease:
SurroundAir collector plates are easily removed and wiped clean.
-
Electrical Usage:
Less than 6 watts.
-
Usable at Home and Away:
SurroundAir operates on 110VAC and in vehicles with 12V adapter (included).
-
Noise Level:
SurroundAir is virtually silent – no moving parts; no fan.
|
Where to Place SurroundAir Units:
- Elevated Location.
Placed 5 feet or more off the ground, the ozone and negative ions will be better distributed.
- Air Flow.
Place near a fan or supply vent for better ion and ozone distribution.
- Open Area.
Place so air flows freely thru and around unit.
- Centrally Locate in Large Rooms; Place Anywhere in Smaller Rooms.
Just remember that the Surround Air Ionizers will
emit negative ions and ozone about evenly in all directions.
- Near Source of Pollution.
Group multiple units near the source of strong odors for more rapid reduction or
elimination.
- Nearby Those Suffering from Headaches, Breathing or Sleeping Problems.
Inhaling negative ions has health benefits. SurroundAir has no fan, so sleep is not
disturbed.
|
Use in Vehicles (12V adaptor included):
|
|
Our exposure to "bad air" is higher in our vehicles than almost anywhere else but a badly ventilated casino or bar.
Vehicle exhaust, urban dust
(chemically-based "urban dust" common on busy roadways), and other toxins
are easily pushed inside a vehicle while driving. Being able to use this air purifier
while traveling is a great benefit to your comfort.
How Can This Air Cleaner Without A Fan?
Surround Air purification systems produce an "ionic breeze" (within the
ion-producing electrodes) to help emit the negative ions and ozone into the room. Natural air currents help distribute
this ionized air. Negative ions and ozone move in the air even without air flow, due to a reaction with
electricity in the air.
Removes Smaller Particles than Filter Units:
Using ozone and negative ions, Surround Air Ionizers effectively remove
particles as small as 0.01 microns from the air. HEPA air filters effectively remove particles
.3 microns or larger. Since 80% of all floating particles are smaller than 0.1 microns,
filters can be insufficient for cleaning the air making SurroundAir the cleaner choice.

How Negative Ions Purify the Air
Virtually all particles in the air have a positive
charge, while negative ions have a negative charge. In which case, negative ions
and particles magnetically attract to one another. When there is a high
enough concentration of negative ions in the air, they will attract to floating
particles in large numbers. This causes the particle to become too heavy to
remain airborne. As a result, the particle will fall out of the air,
preventing it from being inhaled into the respiratory tract where it can trigger
breathing and health problems.
The ionized particle will then be collected by normal cleaning activities, such as vacuuming or dusting. If the particle
happens to be kicked back up into the air again, it will be ionized, and quickly settled out of the air once again.
In nature, negative ions are generated by processes such as sunlight, lightening, waves from the ocean, and from waterfalls.
"Concrete Jungles" minimize the natural production of negative ions by disrupting the delicate electrical balance between
the atmosphere and the earth.
2003 Study:
99.2% reduction in airborne particles from 3 feet away from the air ionizer. Most air purifiers only publish
measurements from inches away from their units.
Test Summary
The XJ-2000 air ionizer was placed six feet high in a 161 sq.
ft. room. Before the air ionizer was turned on, the particle count measured at
21,212 per cubic cm. At the end of the 10 hour test, the particle count was 180
per cubic cm, a reduction of over 99.2%. Measurements were taken 3 feet
away from the Surround Air XJ-2000 air ionizer, showing its ability to
remove airborne particulate levels away from the unit.
Important Note:
Most air purifier manufacturers only publish data showing the reduction rate of
just the particles that actually pass through their air purifier.
