Ozone is a colorless, naturally-occurring gas with three oxygen molecules. Ozone
is electrically energized. Ozone attaches to positively charged airborne pollutants
and also neutralizes the pollutants' odors by changing the molecular structure (oxidation).
Ozone is the natural way the atmosphere is cleansed. Remember how alert and energetic
you are on a sunny day at the seashore or in the mountains? Ozone in the air causes
those good feelings. Like oxygen, ozone in proper concentrations is a healthful
gas.
The Sol Aire® Whole House Air Purifier System delivers pure, fresh, invigorating
air throughout your home in a similar way. Safe concentrations of ozone (.02 to
.03 parts per million) are generated and circulate through HVAC ductwork. The natural
deodorizing power of ozone makes air circulating in your home cleaner and healthier.
Sol Aire's ozone element destroys odor-causing micro particles such as those
from smoke, pets, mold spores, and mildew.

Components of Sol Aire Air Purifiers for Forced Air Furnaces and A/C Systems:
A. UV-C Germicidal Lamp Element: Produces
cleansing rays similar to solar rays. Bathes cold air return (duct work) of central
heating and cooling systems with high frequency ultraviolet (UV-C) rays.
B. Power Cord: Fast. Easy. Convenient.
No hard wiring required. Plug Sol Aire® into the nearest 110 volt outlet. Power
cord is 5 feet long with 2 prong plug.
C. Airflow Sensor: Sensor detects intake
air flow (when fan is running). When the furnace fan is on and air flow is adequate,
sensor "tells" the System Control Unit to activate the UV-C and Ozone lamp elements.
D. Ozone Element: Generates ozone in
scientifically-proven, safe, balanced concentrations (.02-.03 parts per million)
to make household air fresher and invigorating. Odors are destroyed, not masked.
E. Secure-hold Magnets: Simple installation
and maintenance as magnets securely hold the Sol Aire® unit in place. No screws.
Simple fast cleaning and bulb replacement.
F. System Control Unit: Electronic "brain"
of Sol Aire® monitors automatically and continuously to maintain peak performance
of air purifier. Operational, status-check, and maintenance functions for built-in
safety and reliability.
Smart Watch Status Panel:
Smart Watch Status Panel (behind metal grid) shows Sol Aire's operational status.
Indicator Lights
- Red Light: Power On.
- Green Light:
- Blinking: Stand by/system check condition. No air flow is detected. Unit
is ready to operate.
- Solid: Sensor detects fan's air flow and that fan has run 15 to 30 seconds.
- Amber Lights: Two lights lit indicate
active status of unit and bulb status (active or burned out).

| Questions and Answers About: SolAire Purification System | |

What does UV-C light do?
When ultraviolet light of a specific
wavelength (253.7 nm), is called UV-C light and has germicidal properties that kill
tiny airborne microorganisms. When UV-C light contacts a microbe, the light penetrates
through the organism's cell wall and deconstructs the DNA (the cell's
genetic material.) Then the microorganism can no long reproduce and ultimately dies.
Why is ozone used?
Ozone is an essential element for removing odors in homes and other buildings. Ozone
is chemically named O3 which is super oxygenated oxygen with three oxygen
molecules. When ozone interacts with other gases like the gases found in cigarette
smoke, the ozone releases one oxygen molecule. So, ozone (O3) separates
into O2, breatheable oxygen, and a third single molecule. The lone molecule
attaches to other possibly harmful, gaseous compounds. The result is that elements
are produced in their natural, safe, breatheable state, such as N2 (nitrogen)
and H2 (hydrogen.)
Is ozone harmful to your health?
In large quantities ozone is a health hazard. The EPA has established an exposure
standard at 0.1 ppm (parts per million) in a 24-hour period as a safety precaution.
Sol Aire emits approximately 0.025 ppm of ozone, significantly below the safety
standard. Ozone is known to remove odors and in larger concentrations is known to
kill microbes. To safeguard customer's health and safety, the Sol Aire releases
ozone in substantially lower levels, which does decrease its ability to actively
kill airborne organisms. The ultraviolet light component is capable of destroying
microbes that the light contacts. If you have concerns or questions, please contact
us for additional information.
How is Sol Aire installed?
As illustrated in the picture below, Sol Aire is installed into the cold air return
next to the central furnace or air conditioning unit. Only the the outside of the
control unit is visible. Through the grid, the red, green, and amber lights are
viewed.
Why is Sol Aire installed in the ductwork?
Sol Aire is installed in the ductwork because household air is pulled through cold
air returns to forced air heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems (HVAC.
Household dust and dirt mixes with humidity to grow mold spores, mildew, etc. By
killing microorganisms in the ductwork, Sol-Aire helps return fresher, cleaner air
for you to breathe. So Sol Aire helps prevent your exposure to unhealthy substances
rather than filtering them out AFTER your exposure.
When the UV-C light is activated inside the ducts (when the fan is on), the light
is reflected, bouncing off the metal surfaces reaching all areas of the ductwork
and killing 99.999% of all the microbes hiding in the cold air return. It is important
to keep the fan running at all times in order to achieve maximum efficiency of the
Sol Aire system. Sol Aire has an air sensor that automatically turns on when air
flow is detected, thus requiring air movement to activate.
Why Choose a Sol Aire?
- Sol Aire's "double whammy" uses UV-C light and low levels of ozone to purify
air. UV-C light is its primary organism-killer. Ozone deodorizes your home.
- Sol Aire kills many airborne microorganisms so reproduction is stopped immediately.
Sol Aire does not trap microbes in a flimsy filter, where organisms
can continue to reproduce.
- Sol Aire is silent. Components are inside the cold air return, completely out of
sight.
- Sol Aire requires no professional installation. Cut a hole in the metal. Insert
the unit and connect to AC power. Turn on the HVAC fan. The unit begins to purify
the air.
- Sol Aire reduces the number of airborne viruses unlike many other HVAC filter units
where viruses pass through the filter media.
- Sol Aire is economical as one unit can clean up to 3000 square feet.
Compare Sol Aire with Other Air Purifiers:
- Ionizers: Attract particles to a grid or add weight so particles fall to the floor.
- Electrostatic air filters: Attract and hold particles using an electrical charge.
Efficiency decreases when filter is clogged or thin charging wires break.
- HEPA filters in stand-alone units require regular cleaning and replacement of expensive
filters. The higher the air flow, the louder the unit becomes. The noise level can
make sleeping and conversation difficult. HEPA units trap particles that are 0.3
microns or larger in size. Viruses and smaller organisms are not removed or killed
unless units have UV lights, too.
- Sol Aire is a one-of-a-kind device that kills microorganisms in your entire home
and/or business quietly, inexpensively, easily, safely, automatically, and efficiently,
while eliminating odors and maintaining a clean, safe, healthy atmosphere.
Is any maintenance required for Sol Aire?
Maintenance: Every 3 months or when you change your furnace filter: Unplug unit.
Wait 15 minutes while bulbs cool. Remove unit from duct. Simply wipe off both bulbs
with
microfiber cloth dampened with alcohol or glass cleaner. Do not touch
bulbs with fingers as dirt and fingerprints make UV lights less effective. Let dry
completely. Reinsert unit. Enjoy cleaner air. Every 12 months: replace both bulbs.

| Testimonials About: SolAire Whole House Clean Air System | |
|
Our 40 year old farm house has a very damp basement. Soon after moving there in 1992,
I noticed a moldy smell. I have had various colds and allergies since. Within 3
days of installing the Sol Aire system, the moldy smell was gone and within one
week my allergy symptoms had completely vanished.
Everyone who enters my home comments on how fresh the air is. The mold is gone,
and I feel healthy again.
S. Chimpan, Fairfield, Iowa
This year has been a bad year for allergies, but since Sol Aire was installed my
son’s asthma attacks have almost disappeared... and guests notice how fresh
and good the air is in our home.
D. Muckenhirn, Osceola, Wisconsin
I’ve tried just about everything to kill the mold and mildew growing in my
air conditioning unit of my condo here in Florida. Renting the condo became difficult
and embarrassing because of the odor coming from the AC. Within one week of installing
Sol Aire the odor is gone and the air is fresh and sweet.
F.G. Wagner, Laguna Beach, Florida
With seven kids ranging from 3 to 9 years, colds and other illnesses spread easily
in this setting. However, since my husband installed the Sol Aire (all by himself!)
the number of cases of colds, flu, etc. with my day care kids and my
family have dropped significantly. Parents comment on how fresh everything
smells when they pick-up or drop-off the children. I’m going to recommend
Sol Aire to the other in-home day care operators at our monthly meeting!
N. Mark, Little Falls, Minnesota
We heat with forced air heat and we’ve enjoyed the cleanliness and aliveness
of the air since the installation of the Sol Aire unit. It’s made winter inside
a more enjoyable experience. The house smells fresher. I can recommend that anyone
with forced air heat could benefit from this unit.
G.V. Carroll, Bountiful, Utah
I have tried to get rid of the smoke and cooking odors in my sports bar for years...
Nothing seemed to help very much until I installed Sol Aire.
T. Rogers, Danbury, Wisconsin
I had [Sol Aire] installed almost a year ago and it has performed as your brochures
indicated. It has relieved my wife's allergies. Our house is odor free. When
we return from trips we always comment on how fresh the air smells inside our home.
Neither of us has had a cold or flu, and we had no flu shots this year. We have
not seen a Doctor since our last physical, and we are so impressed with the system
that I installed one in our daugher's home in Escondido, CA four months ago
and she says the same thing about the air.
D. McGuire, Lake Havasu City, Arizona
