windows. Easily installed, Guardian Angel Window Guards are egress guards, not security
guards. In an emergency, a coordinate adult or older child can remove guards
from inside or outside by releasing the button locks near the mounting bars. Help

Window screens do not provide baby safety: screening material is not strong enough

How to Measure for Window Guards:

- Identify the types of windows. SINGLE HUNG
The lower window panel moves up and down in a track. DOUBLE HUNG
Both the upper and the lower window panels move up and down, each in its own track.
Panels may or may not tilt in or out for window cleaning. A single horizontal window
guard as shown below can protect the opening when a lower window panel is opened
for ventilation. Sometimes parents want both upper and lower panels protected requiring
use of vertical window guards mounted side or side (attached to the top and bottom
of the inside of the frame) or "stacked" to cover the window like a ladder. If your windows are not double hung nor single hung, please read the
instructions for measuring and send us e-mail with information as listed below.

- Decide where to mount the guards:
Inside the window frame (install the mounting bars perpendicular to the windowsill
along the sides of the window frame) or outside the window frame (install the mounting
bars in the studs on either side of the window.
- Measure in inches the overall width of the interior of the window frame.
(or beyond the window frame for outside mount).
- Measure in inches the height of physical opening when the bottom window panel
is pushed up (opened).
- If the window opening is greater than 25 inches or you wish to cover both window
panels, please send us email with information and we'll send an estimate.
- Compare measurements with chart below.
Guards "telescope" like curtain rods, locking into the side or top mounting bars.
These are NOT spring-loaded.
- Choose standard units for Single and Double Hung installations (horizontal applications).
Horizontal guards for Single and Double Hung windows will NOT safely
protect sliders, casements, etc. There is a 4 inch space between
where bar #1 locks into the mounting bar and the same for bar #4. If you butted
two horizontal guards together, you would make an 8 inch opening through which a
child could squeeze. The vertical guards have a 2 inch space between the outside
safety bars and the end of the mounting bar. When you butt two of these together
you have only a 4 inch space, which is safe.

Child safety requires mature persons establishing and supervising children in a
safe environment.

Window guards MUST protect the entire OPEN portion of window or panel for baby safety.

No space greater than 4 inches is allowed according to ASTM PS 120. (This is why
guards for double and single hung windows are not safe mounted vertically (up and
down) in sliders, casements, and push-outs or pull-in windows.)
- Use window stops (such as Super Stoppers) in conjunction with Window Guards for
windows that open more than 22 inches.

Measure interior height and width in inches. Are screens inside or outside mount?
Measure the space between an inside mount screen and the window. (Usually 3/4 inch
space is needed for interior mount.) "Shimming" may be necessary if the window "ledge"
is slanted. If interior screens mount nearly flush against the window, frame mounting
is needed.
How vertical installations of Guardian Angel II Guards differ from horizontal ones:
- All Vertical Guards have 4 quick release buttons. Vertical windows tend to be tall.
Mounts are secured with 4 screws and need 4 lock mechanisms.
- Many Vertical Guards have shorter side posts. Windows are often narrow.
- Vertical Guards extend the entire height of window openings.
- Typical mounting: center "mounting bar" in window opening or on frame. Then use
two 2 inch metal screws to fasten posts on top and on the bottom.
- Wide vertical windows often need two or more Guards mounted side by side or stacked.
- Window Guard bars in vertical installations are usually perpendicular to the floor,
like prison bars.
- NOTE: Horizontal Window Guards WILL NOT work in vertical installations.
The whole window opening must be filled to provide child safety. Horizontal Guards
have different mounting bars. Installing a horizontal guard provides a child a ladder
on which to climb over the guard and fall out the window above the guard.

Multi-Purpose Super Stopper
Stops Windows and Doors from Opening Too Far!
For Home, Office and Industrial Uses!
Super Stopper combines a 2.75 inch flexible suction cup with a unique shaped wedge
(1.25 inch x 2 inch) to provide added safety against accidents.
Simple Installation and Maintenance:
- Clean surface.
- Press firmly on center of suction cup after positioning.
- Test by opening window to make sure that stopper does not slide.
- Note: Suction cup performance is determined by user and surface to which
it is applied. Only adheres to smooth surfaces like windows or mirrors. Routinely
check that unit is still secure.
Applications include: Double hung, single hung, and sliding windows and sliding
glass patio doors, mirrored closet doors, and flat (smooth) glass shower doors.
Safety Note: Product is NOT fail-safe. NOT a substitute for adult supervision.
Does NOT eliminate the risk of an accident. The purpose is to reduce risk by stopping
windows from opening too far when affixed properly to windows. We recommend two
Super Stoppers on each window.
Best used with Guardian Angel II Window Guards for maximum baby safety or child
safety for second story and windows more than a few feet off the ground.
